Passionately Pink for the Cure is an annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser that is sponsored by the National Student Speech-Hearing-Language Association (NSSHLA) student chapter of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
While working with professors the NSSHLA officers collected donations campus wide, sponsored a raffle for the donors, and hosted a student/faculty mixer where chances were sold on faculty donated items.
While Chris was hunting, I spent a little quality time with the family. My mom’s yard was covered with leaves, so my nephew and I helped her clean them up.
I love birthdays! Celebrating life is an amazing thing especially when it’s someone who means so much to you. For, Chris’s birthday a large group of friends and family gathered at one of our favorite restaurants at home. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a pic of everyone but it was great to see some of our friends that we haven’t seen in a long time and celebrate with loved ones.
Chris decided that he wanted to travel up north for a couple days. He wanted to do some hunting with my father before he had to leave for training in CA for his new job. I was excited to go home and spend some time with the family. When I met my fiance he was a clean cut guy who loved socializing and dreamed of one day living in NYC. He’s still clean cut but he’s gotten in-touch with his inner country boy. He loves to hunt and I’m pretty sure he prefers land and trees to the hustle and bustle of the city these days. My father was blessed with five daughters but no sons. We’re all very close with him but we just don’t share many of the same interests. My father and Chris have grown close over the last couple of years and it’s been great to see their bond and relationship grow.
Chris got the job!!! We’re excited that we’ll be moving closer to family and friends, South Burlington, here we come. We finalized our lease and we move everything in November 20,2012. Did I mention we haven’t seen the apartment yet? Well, not in person anyway, the internet truly is a beautiful thing. Unfortunately because of our crazy schedules we weren’t able to travel to VT to see the new place before signing the lease.
These next few months are going to be a little chaotic. Christopher will be flying from coast to coast training for his new job and I’m finishing up my final semester at The College of Saint Rose. Come December 15th we’ll both officially be VT residents!
My name is Christine and I currently live in Albany, NY with my fiance and our crazy Boston Terrier, Maxi. We moved to Albany 2 1/2 years ago from Plattsburgh,NY. Christopher was given a great job opportunity and I was finally going back to college to pursue a degree in communication and science disorders. We love the area but we miss our families.
It’s been a pretty exciting year, I turned 30, Chris and I got engaged, I’m graduating in December, and Chris got a new job! The company will bring us closer to home but somewhere we never expected to live. I guess you never know what life will bring, I look forward to the adventure.
